Honoring the Legacy of our Father, Professor Adalat Khan
On July 20, 2025, our beloved father, Professor Adalat Khan, left this world. As we approach the first anniversary of his passing on July 20, we are remembering not only the pain of losing him, but also the beautiful legacy he left behind.
My father was a professor of Economics for more than 30 years. During his long and honorable career, he taught thousands of students. Many of his students are now serving in important positions across Pakistan and around the world. Through his knowledge, kindness, discipline, and guidance, he helped shape countless lives.
But to us, he was much more than a professor. He was our strength, our provider, our teacher, and our greatest supporter.
My father raised four children with love, dignity, and sacrifice. He worked hard so we could have the best education, the best opportunities, and the kind of life he dreamed for us. Because of him, we studied in the best private schools, received the best facilities, and were able to pursue advanced degrees. Because of his sacrifices, we were able to visit and enroll in some of the best universities in the world. Today, all of us are continuing his mission in our own ways by serving humanity.
One of the greatest blessings of my life was that my father was able to visit me in the United States for three months in 2024. During that time, we shared many beautiful memories together, memories that have become even more precious after his passing. The picture on this GoFundMe page was taken on June 11, 2024, at Adams Farms in Greensboro, North Carolina. Looking at that picture reminds me of his presence, his smile, his love, and the time we were fortunate to spend together.
Another memory that will always stay with me is the day I was hired by the University of Buner, Pakistan. My father drove me there himself. He was so excited and proud. During that journey, he told me that he had received his first job in 1987 at Daggar College, Buner. That moment connected his beginning with mine, and it remains one of the most precious memories of my life.
My father believed deeply in education. He believed that education could change families, communities, and futures. In his memory, we want to continue that belief by raising funds to support deserving kids and honor the lifelong work he dedicated to teaching.
