Asuka broke her leg playing the sport she loves. Now she needs her futsal family.
If you've ever met Asuka, you already know why we're here.
Yesterday she was on the court doing what she does every week, giving everything. A tackle right at the end of the game ended her night and her season, and changed her Australian working holiday experience, with a broken leg severe enough to require emergency surgery.
She woke up in hospital in a country that isn't hers, thousands of kilometres from her family, facing months off work with no income, no sick leave, and no safety net. And there's a real chance she'll need a second surgery before this is over.
She is a long way from home
Asuka is in Australia on a Working Holiday visa. She built her life here around work, sport, and the people she found at this club.
She has no access to government support. No employer sick pay. Every week she can't work is a week she struggles to pay rent, buy food, or get herself to hospital appointments.
She hasn't complained once, that makes it even harder to watch.
What your donation covers
Sports insurance is handling the direct hospital bills.
Everything else is on Asuka.
- Rent so she doesn't lose her home while she heals
- Groceries and meal deliveries while she can't stand long enough to cook
- Utility bills that don't pause for a medical crisis
- Out-of-pocket medical costs including
medications, specialist gap fees, mobility aids, and transport to follow-up appointments
The timeline is uncertain.
Her recovery depends on how her body responds, and a second surgery remains a real possibility. We want to build her a financial buffer that takes the pressure completely off so she can focus on one thing only: getting better.
What we're asking
Any amount matters. The price of a coffee. A skipped takeaway. Whatever you can spare.
If donating isn't possible right now, please share this page.
With your networks, your club, your local sporting community.
One share costs nothing and might reach someone who can help.
Asuka gives everything for the people around her. Every single week, without hesitation.
Now it's our turn.
With love from her teammates and fellow club members, the South Perth Alliance futsal family.
