Meet the children, women, and men affected by sickle cell. Their smiling faces and peace signs remind us of the importance of protecting our most vulnerable populations. It is tragic to learn that globally, those with sickle cell rarely survive past five years, and in the US, past 40. (These individuals could be a son, a daughter, friend, a colleague, or a student). In between, they endure constant pain, fatigue, frequent hospitalization, and they miss proms, and graduations. Despite efforts as a nation to reduce their suffering and extend their lives, the opposite is occurring, with an increasing number passing away. It’s time for a new approach.

Having researched sickle cell, provided care, and lost family and friends to this condition, I have been deeply moved by the silent strength and resilience of those affected. Their courage and good hearts in the face of pain inspired me to develop a care model that revolutionized how we provide them care. My ultimate goal is to establish a health center dedicated to sickle cell care, but its success requires a collective effort.

On behalf of those with sickle cell, I am seeking your support. We will embark on this journey step by step. The initial goal is to raise $10,000, which will enable me to continue advocacy efforts, increase knowledge, influence major decision-makers, and change policies. This funding will have an immediate impact on reducing pain and improving the quality of care for those affected.

- Conducting assessments to identify specific and unique needs.

- Purchasing software for data analysis.

- Publishing and sharing findings along with care recommendations.

- Running campaigns to raise awareness and educate the community.
